Find a Resident Evil starting point, check what a Gold Edition includes, or follow the CGI films. These guides separate play order, extra content and screen adaptations so you can go straight to the decision you need to make.

New to the games? The games-in-order guide separates release order from story chronology and explains where remakes fit. That distinction matters when two games retell the same incident rather than continue it.
Buying a Gold Edition or upgrading a copy you already own? Use the guide for that specific game. Resident Evil 4, Village and Resident Evil 7 bundle different kinds of extra content; a Gold label is not a guarantee that every add-on or cosmetic item is included.
The CGI viewing guide covers the animated films and Infinite Darkness. Keep that route separate from the live-action films: sharing characters and the Resident Evil name does not put every adaptation in one continuous timeline.
