Browsing and search
When you visit SagaRadar, your browser sends technical information needed to request a page, including an IP address and the requested URL. Server diagnostics may record requests, their times and errors to help operate and troubleshoot the website.
Search terms entered in our site search form part of the requested URL. Please avoid entering personal or sensitive information. You can browse our guides without creating a reader account.
Information you send by email
If you contact us by email, your message may include your name, email address, attachments and details of your enquiry. We use the information you provide to assess and respond to the request, including article corrections, permissions enquiries and privacy questions.
Send only the information relevant to your enquiry. Do not include passwords, payment details or unnecessary identity documents. Email is handled through the services used to send and receive it, which have their own security and privacy practices.
Article reactions
Choosing an article reaction sets a cookie named sr_reaction_visitor. This cookie contains a random browser identifier and expires after 180 days. A protected version of the identifier is stored with the article and your chosen reaction so that you can change or remove your choice. Public totals show counts, not the identifier, and these records are not linked to a reader account.
Select the same reaction again to remove your saved choice for that article. Clearing the cookie removes the browser identifier but does not delete reactions already saved on the site. Saved reactions have no automatic expiry.
YouTube videos and external links
Embedded YouTube players load only when you choose to load a video. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. Loading a player connects your browser to Google, which receives technical information and may use cookies or other storage under its own policies. YouTube may also display advertising within the player.
Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no information is processed. Closing a player removes it from the page but does not erase information already received by Google. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and its explanation of information from partner sites.
External links and sharing controls can take you to services with their own privacy practices. A sharing control does not publish a post until you complete the action with the service you choose.
Advertising and affiliate links
SagaRadar does not currently run Google AdSense placements or use Amazon affiliate links.
Where an affiliate link is used, the retailer may receive the affiliate identifier, page request and technical information, and may use cookies or similar technology under its own privacy policy. SagaRadar does not receive your payment card details from purchases made with a retailer.
Our Affiliate Disclosure explains commercial links and advertising. If advertising or analytics services are added, this policy will identify the relevant providers, their use of information and the choices available to you.
Your choices
You can block or clear cookies and site storage in your browser. Doing so may prevent the site from remembering a reaction. You can read guides without loading a video or using reaction controls.
When you follow a retailer, video or social link, review that service’s policy and privacy settings. Its choices may differ from those available on SagaRadar.
Questions and policy updates
