Games or animation: choose your starting point
For the games, start with the play-order guide if you are deciding between release order and the Belmont family timeline. Story chronology can help on a return visit, but it is not a checklist you must finish before trying a particular game.
If you are shopping for a collection, open the contents guide for Anniversary, Advance or Dominus. Each brings together a different selection; the name alone does not tell you which games, versions or extras are included.
For the Netflix shows, use the watch-order guide instead. It explains how the original series leads into Nocturne. The adaptations draw on the games, but you do not need to play through the game timeline to follow them.
