Castlevania Advance Collection: Games, Extras and Platforms
Check all four Castlevania Advance Collection games, supported platforms and regional versions. See why Dracula X is different from Rondo of Blood.
Castlevania Advance Collection contains four games: Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, and Dracula X. The first three originated on Game Boy Advance; Dracula X is the Super NES game. Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, and the Nintendo DS games are in other collections.
Every game in Castlevania Advance Collection
All four games are included in one purchase. You do not need an original cartridge, another collection or a separate DLC purchase to unlock them.
| Game | Original year | Original platform | Which title is it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Castlevania: Circle of the Moon | 2001 | Game Boy Advance | Nathan Graves’ adventure. Combine action and attribute cards in the Dual Set-up System to change your attacks and abilities. |
| Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance | 2002 | Game Boy Advance | Juste Belmont’s game. Spell Fusion combines sub-weapons with spell books. This is not Harmony of Despair. |
| Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow | 2003 | Game Boy Advance | Soma Cruz collects enemy abilities through Tactical Souls. Dawn of Sorrow continues his story in a separate game. |
| Castlevania: Dracula X | 1995 | Super NES | Richter’s stage-based SNES game, called Vampire’s Kiss in Europe. Expect a different structure from the three exploration-focused GBA games. |
If your goal is simply to follow the GBA release sequence, use Circle of the Moon → Harmony of Dissonance → Aria of Sorrow. That is a release-based route through those three games, not a claim that their stories form a trilogy. For all four games in original release order, put Dracula X first.

Platforms and physical editions
Advance Collection launched in September 2021 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC through Steam. Konami identifies PS5 and Xbox Series X|S play through backward compatibility; a PS5-compatible listing should not be mistaken for a separate native PS5 edition.
The original launch materials describe a digital release, but physical editions also exist. For example, Limited Run’s PS4 Classic Edition combines the game with physical collector items. Its packaging and extras are a separate consideration from the four-game software lineup.
With a used collector edition, check which physical extras the seller actually includes. The software still contains the same four games.
For PC, the Steam product listing separates the standalone game from larger bundles and supplies its current system requirements.
Is Dracula X the same game as Rondo of Blood?
No. The Dracula X in Advance Collection is the 1995 SNES title. Konami describes it as a reimagining of Rondo of Blood; it is not the PC Engine game under another regional name.
The names are especially easy to confuse because The Dracula X Chronicles is yet another product: a PSP release associated with Rondo of Blood. Buying Advance Collection does not give you that PSP package or the original Rondo. For the pairing of Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night, look for Castlevania Requiem on PlayStation 4.
What extras and regional versions are included?
The official collection page lists rewind, quick save/load, replay, an encyclopedia, a music player, and an artwork gallery. The gallery includes original packaging and development artwork; the music player covers the four included games.
You can select Japanese, American and European ROM versions. Each regional ROM has its own save data; progress in one does not transfer when you choose another region.
Advance, Anniversary, Dominus, or Requiem?
Find your target game in this table. Advance, Anniversary and Dominus are separate collections; buying one does not unlock the other two.
| If you want… | Collection to look for |
|---|---|
| The three GBA games, plus SNES Dracula X | Advance Collection |
| The early NES games, Super Castlevania IV, the first two Game Boy games, Bloodlines, and Famicom Kid Dracula | Anniversary Collection |
| Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia | Dominus Collection |
| Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night | Requiem — PlayStation 4 |
For Soma’s connected stories, play Aria of Sorrow in Advance, then Dawn of Sorrow in Dominus. For other characters and timelines, use the full Castlevania game order.
