Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass: What’s Included?

Persona 3 Reload’s Expansion Pass includes Episode Aigis -The Answer-, the Persona 5 Royal and Persona 4 Golden EX BGM sets, and the Velvet Costume & BGM Set. It requires Persona 3 Reload with the latest update and is separate from the launch DLC Pack included in Digital Premium.

Already own Digital Premium? It does not include Episode Aigis. Check the Expansion Pass for your platform, or the separately named Episode Aigis -The Answer- Pack on Switch 2. Neither add-on includes the base game.

What does the Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass include?

The original pass was released in three waves during 2024. Those dates describe its rollout, not content still awaiting release: Episode Aigis, the final wave, launched on September 10, 2024.

The EX sets change music inside Reload; they are not the soundtrack-listening app sold with higher game editions.

The Velvet set adds themed outfits and music, usable in Reload and Episode Aigis. To select an outfit, open EQUIP, choose a character, then select the outfit. For music, open SYSTEM → CONFIG → Game System Settings and change the dungeon or battle BGM.

Expansion Pass versus DLC Pack versus Digital Premium

For the epilogue, choose the Expansion Pass, not the launch DLC Pack. The table also shows why upgrading to Digital Premium does not solve that need.

The reverse is also important: owning the Expansion Pass does not mean that you own the seven launch DLC sets. For example, the Persona 5 Royal EX BGM Set in the pass and the Persona 5 Royal BGM Set in the launch pack are different listings. Keep the “EX” in the name when comparing purchases.

For a first-time game purchase, the Persona 3 Reload editions comparison explains Standard, Deluxe, Premium and the physical collector’s edition. Here, the relevant question is which additional content your existing game is missing.

Is Episode Aigis a standalone game?

No. Episode Aigis requires Persona 3 Reload and its latest update. You cannot play it using Persona 3 Portable or FES instead.

The episode is Reload’s epilogue, revisiting The Answer from Persona 3 FES. It follows the main story and puts Aigis at the center of the additional chapter. For a first playthrough, finish Reload’s main story before starting it: producer Kazuhisa Wada also directs newcomers to begin with Reload in his launch discussion.

Finishing Reload first is advice for following the story, not a reason to buy another edition. The listed requirements are Reload and its latest update; a completed save is not listed as a purchase requirement.

Can you carry your Persona Compendium into Episode Aigis?

SEGA’s expansion guide describes a Compendium transfer from the main game, except when playing Episode Aigis on Heartless difficulty. Summoning is still limited by the episode’s level requirements. Carrying that record over is not the same as starting the epilogue with your entire endgame party intact.

Can you buy only Episode Aigis?

On Steam, the epilogue is sold through the Expansion Pass, together with the EX BGM and Velvet sets. The launch DLC Pack is not needed for Episode Aigis.

On Switch 2, use the separately named Episode Aigis Pack below. Check other storefronts by their actual purchasable package and contents rather than assuming a page headed “Episode Aigis” is an epilogue-only offer.

Nintendo Switch 2 uses the Episode Aigis -The Answer- Pack

The Nintendo Switch 2 catalog uses the name Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis -The Answer- Pack. Nintendo’s US DLC directory lists it separately from the Premium DLC Pack and the launch DLC Pack.

The published Australian eShop contents include the epilogue, the two EX BGM sets and the Velvet Costume & BGM Set. Its requirements again specify Reload and the latest patch. This is a Switch 2 add-on purchase, not a pass that transfers over from a Steam or PlayStation copy.

SEGA explicitly excludes the Episode Aigis Pack from both Digital Premium and the Premium DLC Pack on Switch 2. The latter supplies digital art, a soundtrack and launch DLC; it does not contain the base game either. Similar package names should therefore not be used as shorthand for “everything.”

Choose the Switch 2 package by its full name in Nintendo’s US DLC directory. Episode Aigis requires Persona 3 Reload on the matching platform; it cannot be used with Persona 3 Portable or FES.

What happened to the Game Pass Ultimate offer?

SEGA’s Episode Aigis launch announcement offered the Expansion Pass at no additional cost to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers through January 31, 2025. That deadline belongs to the historical promotion. It is not an offer a new subscriber should assume can still be claimed.

If you redeemed a pass through that promotion, check the account used to redeem it before buying again. Look for the expansion in your library or order history; your current subscription tier alone does not tell you whether you claimed it during that offer.

Owning the expansion does not supply Reload itself. If you previously played the base game through a subscription, confirm that you still have access to it.

Before buying the Expansion Pass

1. Match the platform and account. Use the store for your copy of Reload and check any compatibility requirements shown there.
2. Check your library. Look for an earlier purchase, bundle or redeemed promotion before paying a second time.
3. Install the add-on and update the game. The latest patch is part of the published requirement.
