The episode ranges come from Shogakukan’s Black Lagoon anime catalog. Its box contents distinguish the two TV seasons from the OVA continuation. This is why a complete collection can contain 29 main episodes without there being 29 television episodes.

Black Lagoon and The Second Barrage

Start at episode 1, where Rock enters the world of the Lagoon Company. The Second Barrage follows the first twelve episodes; it is not a remake, a recap or an alternate version of Season 1.

If your watchlist says “Black Lagoon, 24 episodes,” it may already contain both seasons. Check whether the second half is episodes 13–24 before starting a separate Second Barrage listing. Otherwise, you can accidentally watch the same twelve episodes twice.

Yes, “Season 3” is often used for this third animated instalment. More precisely, it is a five-part OVA, originally released for home video, rather than another twelve-episode TV season. Search for the subtitle Roberta’s Blood Trail so you do not confuse the existing continuation with news or speculation about another season.

OVA numbering: 1–5 or 25–29

Both systems describe the same five installments: OVA 1 is episode 25 in a combined set, OVA 2 is episode 26, and so on through OVA 5 / episode 29. If your set already includes episodes 25–29, do not add the separate OVA listing again.

English dub, subtitles and catalog labels

The English dub and Japanese audio follow the same order. A separate “Dub” listing is a language option, not another arc. Before changing services, note the last episode title as well as its number.
