Follow Demon Slayer through the first Infinity Castle movie, choose a Mugen Train version and avoid confusing event screenings with full TV arcs.

Start Demon Slayer with the original 26 episodes, then watch Mugen Train and continue through the arcs below. You do not need both versions of Mugen Train, and the two To the… event films can be left out when you watch the full TV arcs.

The main Demon Slayer viewing order

Use the arc names to match the guide to your viewing service. They identify the story more reliably than a season number that may be grouped differently in another catalog.

The route through the released main story covered as of September 9, 2026
Order Arc or film What to watch
1 Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc (2019) All 26 TV episodes. This is the first series.
2 Mugen Train The 2020 movie or all 7 episodes of the 2021 TV arc. Compare the two versions.
3 Entertainment District Arc (2021–2022) All 11 TV episodes.
4 Swordsmith Village Arc (2023) All 11 TV episodes.
5 Hashira Training Arc (2024) All 8 TV episodes.
6 Infinity Castle — first movie (2025) Watch after Hashira Training. This is the first film, not the entire announced trilogy.

Find your next step if you have already started

  • Finished the original 26 episodes: go to Mugen Train, choosing the film or TV version.
  • Finished the Mugen Train movie: continue to Entertainment District; see the Mugen Train comparison below if you want the TV version’s extras.
  • Finished To the Swordsmith Village after seeing Entertainment District: continue with Swordsmith Village episode 2.
  • Finished To the Hashira Training after seeing Swordsmith Village: continue with Hashira Training episode 2.
  • Finished all eight Hashira Training episodes: watch the first Infinity Castle movie.

Mugen Train: should you watch the movie or the episodes?

Already watched the movie? Entertainment District is your next story step. Repeating the train story is optional. The official TV introduction explains what the seven-episode version adds: an original Rengoku episode, extra scenes, music and other changes.

  • Choose the seven TV episodes if you want the expanded television presentation, including its original opening episode.
  • Choose the movie if you want the train story as one feature. You can then continue to Entertainment District.
  • Already watched the movie? TV episode 1 gives you the separate original story. The remaining TV episodes revisit the film’s central events with additions, so watch them if you want those differences too.

TV episode 1 plus the movie covers the separate Rengoku story and the film, but not every added scene in the TV adaptation.

What do the two To the… films contain?

To the Swordsmith Village and To the Hashira Training were event screenings that joined the end of one TV arc to the opening of the next. They are not two additional story arcs between the television seasons.

The TV episodes reused in the event films
Event film Episodes included What that means for your watch
To the Swordsmith Village (2023) Entertainment District episodes 10–11, followed by Swordsmith Village episode 1. It does not replace the full Swordsmith Village arc.
To the Hashira Training (2024) Swordsmith Village episode 11, followed by Hashira Training episode 1. It does not replace the full Hashira Training arc.

If you already watched the full TV arcs, these screenings are optional repeat viewing. If you watched an event film first, check that you have seen the preceding arc before continuing: its climactic episodes are not a substitute for that arc’s earlier story.

Where does Infinity Castle fit?

Watch Infinity Castle after all eight Hashira Training episodes. Unlike the To the… screenings, it adds the next part of the story.

The official English series portal lists the first Infinity Castle movie under 2025 and confirms a trilogy. Its July 2026 announcement gives July 28 for the first movie’s Crunchyroll and digital release. Check availability in your country: an English-language release announcement is not a guarantee of access through every regional service.

The first Infinity Castle movie does not complete the announced trilogy. It is the endpoint of this released route. The official portal does not provide dated watch steps for the remaining two films in the announcements cited here.
